The actors of the Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes Airport Society (SAGPC) received the press, this Friday, January 27, 2023, with the aim of presenting the good results for 2022 of the infrastructure (after two years weighed down by the Covid crisis). , the important achievements and prospects. The new strategic plan 2022-2028”CAP 2028It was also announced that its objective is to sustainably support the economic and social development of the territory.
Without a doubt, all the lights are green, in Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes. The use of the airport complex, which is stabilizing at a level close to the pre-pandemic and whose margin of progress is real, allows managers to see the future auspiciously.
The airport is proving to be a locomotive of the local economy, according to the results of a socio-economic impact study carried out in 2022. With its 2 million passengers, the main gateway to and from the archipelago, in addition to the Seaport, is a stronghold of jobs: 2,120 on-site jobs and 8,500 indirect jobs (that is, 6% at the departmental level). It contributes to the GDP of Guadeloupe, up to 665 million euros (7%). Its turnover amounts to 1,300 million euros.
Figures that are dizzying and that will grow exponentially, if the goal of 3 million passengers per year is reached, as desired, by 2030/2035!
The improvement also allows turning without fear, towards a sustainable development of the airport complex. Significant investments are planned in this regard.
