news hardware New RTX 4090 graphics card: insane performance and a price to match
While the new range of graphics cards manufactured at Nvidia will be presented on September 20 at a conference, the RTX 4090 is leaking information! And not least, since these are its potential benefits, as well as its price!
The Nvidia RTX 4090, twice as powerful as the RTX 3090?
All PC gamers only expect one thing: to know if the RTX 4090 will live up to their expectations! And for good reason, the super-powerful 3090 and 3090 Ti blew us away with their performance, but Nvidia doesn’t want to stop there.
This is all just rumours, as nothing has been formalized, but a benchmark has been posted on a Chinese site. The RTX 4090 is said to score 19,000 points in 3DMark TimeSpy Extremesoftware to test the computing speed of a chip.
At another benchmark, the score would have reached a whopping 20,192! So if we believe these sources, the RTX 4090 could show us a power almost 2 times higher than the RTX 3090 (+90%).
On the frequency side, the new Nvidia graphics card would show a frequency of 3015 MHz (3Ghz), which is an extremely high frame rate for a GPU. More surprisingly, even at this frequency, the RTX 4090 would not exceed 55 °C, even at the maximum of its capabilities.
According to the person who conducted the benchmark, the RTX 4090 would have a “very large” heatsink that would not fit on all towers. Regarding consumption, the TDP would not exceed 450 Watts.
The RTX 4090 has a knockout price
Now let’s talk about what bothers a little more: the price. If PC components have suffered a huge price blow in the last two years, the course of the euro mixes with all this and offers us a more amazing price.
It was through an Australian reseller that a screenshot was leaked on the internet. In this image we can see a price of 4270 Australian dollars, or approximately €2909 at the current exchange rate for the euro.
As a reminder, the RTX 3090 had pointed the tip of its nose at our stores for the modest sum of €1,099. You know, the days when recommended prices were thought to still be the norm. Even if the prices of an RTX 3090 are around €1,200/1,300, the RTX 4090 would be worth more than twice as much as its previous generation counterpart.
In the screenshot, the Australian store shows a Gigabyte RTX 4090, with 24 GB of dedicated video memory, but mostly overclocked. Another Australian store, show another model, still at Gigabyte, the Aorus Master, this time at AU$3,900, or about €2,657. However, no image has been released.
Nvidia plans to officially announce the arrival of the RTX 4000 lineup on September 20 at a conference. During this meeting, we will get to know more about the RTX 4090, which as traditionally should appear first, before welcoming its little sisters afterwards.
Thus, we will have confirmation of the real launch prices of the RTX 4090, hoping that the figures announced in these Australian stores are false…
