What is the plot of the High Isle expansion?
The High Isle chapter is part of the Breton Legacy Saga of The Elder Scrolls Online. It offers the player to embark on the ancient house of the Bretons through a main quest that is part of the Heritage of the Bretons. The latter asks to unmask a secret order of knights led by the enigmatic Lord Ascendant and the Magus Ascendant, shadowy characters ready to draw a line under the peace talks of the War of the Three Banners. If no one can stop them, they will plunge all of Tamriel into a bloody war. Breton culture obliges, the heroes will have to face various devious traps while unraveling various political intrigues. All while coming under the crossfire of three rival factions: the House of Dufort, the House of Mornard, and the Unbreakable society.
What are the new places to explore?
The new area to explore, the Systres archipelago, is made up of Île-Haute and Île d’Amenos. These locations never before explored in The Elder Scrolls feature towering cliffs, towering castles, and lush jungles. Both the architectures to visit and the places to explore promise to be exotic. The artistic direction used provides a cache that should attract the regulars. These new places will allow you to find some well-known protagonists.
What is Cuentos y Glorias, the novelty of the taverns?
Tales of Glory is described as “a new way to relax in Elder Scrolls Online.” What is it really about? Simply a collectible card game with which it is possible to face NPCs or friends, a bit like Hearthstone or Magic. The player can collect cards through the Tavern (a pool of 5 cards) to form the best possible decks to beat their opponents. At the beginning of the game, each participant chooses two decks that are linked to two mentors. These mentors can be summoned during the game, granting the player who initiated the action special bonuses. The objective is obviously to chain devastating actions to win the duel. There are two victory conditions: either the player accumulates 40 Prestige, or he manages to obtain the favors of all four Mentors. In this turn-based card game, players have 90 seconds to decide. There are eight mentor decks available, each centered around a house or person in Tamriel. The first four decks (Celaros Loremaster, Delmene Hlaalu, Duke of Ravens, and Saint Pekin) become available after completing the tutorial. The last four are unlocked by completing special missions.
What else is new?
The High Isle expansion also contains a new raid (12 person PVE) called Doomsail Reef, new world events called Rifts, and new bosses, side quests, dungeons, and lairs never seen before. In addition, this chapter brings collectibles and rewards that the adventurer will not find anywhere else in Nirn. Finally, two new companions enter the arena: Braise (a Khajiit) and Isobel (a Breton). They will benefit from dedicated quests as well as a more fleshed out backstory than the other companions.
The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle expansion will be released on June 6, 2022 on PC and Mac. It will arrive on Xbox One, Xbos Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles on June 21, 2022.
